2018 Pet Photo Competition

frankie_and_friends_jenny_harris_19.jpg

2018 Pet Photo Competition Winner.

This years winning photo was taken by Jenny Harris of her dog Frankie, the Schnauzer watching her little friend jumping into the water at Bethels farm stay.

The standard of pictures this year was very high but I chose this one for a couple of reasons. Firstly I think it is much harder to get an action photo than an animal sitting still. Secondly a good photo should tell a story and this picture certainly achieves this.

Frankie although not the brave little dog will receive a years supply of Advocate flea and worm treatment kindly donated by Bayer.

I have displayed some of your pictures below. We received a huge number of pictures and if your one is not shown it does not mean we didn't love seeing it.

We have shown some of the pictures below. If your picture is not here it does not mean it was not a great photo but rather we had too many to show them all.

2015 Pet Photo Competition

long_mini_me.jpg

The winner of the 2015 Pet Photo Competition.

The winning entry this year is taken by Chris Long of his cat Mini me. Chris has entered the competition most years and has had some great entries but this is the first time he has won the competition.

I really liked this photo, as the cats eyes and nose were perfectly focused with the rest of the cat blurred in the back ground. Mini me also has a very interesting face with no no imperfections.

Chris will receive a years supply of Advocate for Mini me, kindly donated by Bayer.

I asked you to send me your photo's and this year I got an unbelieveable number of entries. I have put up a small selection of the pictures below. If your photo is not present it does not mean it wasn't great and we all enjoyed loooking at them.

2014 Pet Photo Competition

h_roxy_anita_rodger.jpeg

The winner of the 2014 Pet Photo Competition.

The winner this year is Anita Rodger for her Christmas photo of Roxy. It was very hard to decide this year but I liked this photo for its very narrow depth of field, with the head sharp in focus and everything else in the background blurred. That and the fact the dog is so cute.

Roxy will receive a years supply of ADVOCATE kindly sponsored by Bayer to keep her flea and worm free.

I would also like to offer a consolation prize to Christine Fletcher for capturing the scene of Ollie and Poppy getting up to mischief. Check out the picture below.

Christine will receive a box of Advocate for one of these naughty dogs.

If your picture does not appear below I do apologise. The competition has grown in popularity every year so I display a sample of the pictures taken. We all enjoy seeing what your pets have been up to so do send us more next summer.

2012-winner.jpgThe Winner of the 2012 Pet Photo Competition

The Winner of the 2012 Pet Photo Competition is Susanna Day for her photo of Tess and Tank. Taking a photo of a stationary pet is one thing but to capture two dogs in full flight and in sharp focus is excellent. Susanna will receive a years supply of ADVOCATE for her dog to keep it free from fleas and worms. Thank you so much to all of you who sent in pictures. I have displayed some of them below. Sorry if your photo is not here, it does not mean it was no good, it was simply a matter of me stopping playing on the computer and going back to treat some patients.

If your photo is not here I am sorry. We had many more great pictures that could have been added to these. Unfortunately I need to spend more time treating pets and less time working on web sites. Even if your picture is not here we loved seeing them.

If you want your chance to win then getting snapping as the competition will be back next summer.
